Our DNA

Every living organism has a DNA.  That DNA is what makes that living organism what it is--unique, unlike anything else in all of creation.  God has given us a unique DNA too!  Our DNA is made up of a clear mission, a motivating vision, and core values that guide us in all that we do.  We believe our mission is who we are.  Our vision is how we get there.  And our values are the rules for the road.  If you think this DNA is worth being a part of, then come join us on the journey.  We're always glad to have some friends along the road.

OUR MISSION:

Leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ

OUR VISION:

 Creating environments

where people are encouraged and equipped to develop

Intimacy with God

Community with followers

Influence with others

OUR VALUES:

Fellowship   We believe that the faith of Jesus Christ is intended to be lived out in community—sharing in faith, hope, and love.  We are devoted to intentional community building, team-based ministry, and the use of various relational environments for belonging and faith development.     (Acts 2:44)

E
xcellence
We believe that God offered the very best in Jesus Christ and that we therefore will offer our very best in ministry for God.  We will strive toward this excellence through a passionate pursuit of continual spiritual enrichment opportunities to grow our relationship with Christ.         (John 3:16)

Love   We believe Jesus accepted all people right where they were, just the way they were, and then lovingly and graciously transformed their lives.  We will be Christ-like in the way we love people.            (John 8:11)

Legacy   We believe in the legacy of Jesus Christ as lived out in the Wesleyan tradition.  We will therefore remain connected and committed in mission and ministry with our sisters and brothers of the United Methodist Church and of the greater body of Christ.   (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Obedience   We believe God’s desire for those who claim faith in Christ is obedience to God’s mercy, love, justice, grace, peace and hope.  As those who claim this faith we place ourselves under God’s authority and holding each other accountable to it.    (John 14:15)

Worship   We believe that we are called to celebrate and give thanks to God through communal worship.  We are dedicated to making our worship welcoming, shared, and focused on the celebration of God.

(Psalm 150)

Service   We believe Jesus called us to touch other people’s lives; to serve others in the name of Jesus Christ; to give ourselves fully to God’s world.  We are committed to the healing of the world in body, mind, and spirit.   (Galatians 5: 13)

Hospitality   We believe God calls us to offer radical hospitality to the sojourners of the world.  We will reach the stranger, welcome them into friendship, and invite them to become a part of the family of God.     (1 Peter 4:9)

I
nvolvement

We believe that every disciple of Jesus Christ is ordained to ministry through their baptism because the Holy Spirit has imparted gifts for that ministry.  We will use our spiritual gifts for the doing of ministry and the building up of the body of Christ.   (Ephesians 4:12)

Prayer   We believe that prayer is our primary connection with God—for relationship, healing, and assurance.  We will unceasingly pray for God’s will.   (Luke 18:1))
